Secure https links suddenly stopped working.

I too am now one of the users where my previous working HTTPS links have stopped functioning.

I had the issue several months ago with HTTP links and I changed them over to HTTPS links and they worked until yesterday. Then the links didn't work, and I don't know if it was a "quirk" in the web site or in Excel.

I would appreciate any help in getting the hyperlinks to function again. I would also like to know how to petition Microsoft to support all HTTPS protocol sites.

My problem appears to be with Stockcharts. If anyone else has the same issue, please see the following.

1 <br>Well, whatever stockcharts upgrade was that weekend specifically choked Office's (on the Mac's at least) connection protocol, whatever it is. Stockcharts support got back to me and said as much. No idea what kind of webserver proxy configuration setting MS<br> was relying on, but whatever it was it's gone and Stockcharts has no intent of putting it back.<br><br><br><br>All I was doing was using the convenient feature within Excel to store a hyperlink to a chart in my timing signals checklist sheet. I wasn't storing the chart output file or looking to run mass scripts on anything. Frankly, I don't get Stockchart's specific<br> aversion to this, as the same thing can be accomplished from a terminal session running through a script file and opening links - with heavier impact to stockcharts' servers.<br><br><br><br>The links work fine outside of Office.<br><br><br>link<br><br><br><br>answered Mar 12 at 22:50<br><br><br><br><br>FlyingCircus <br><br>36 ●3<br><br><br>2<br><br><br><br>So basically you are just storing bookmark links. I do the same thing from within FireFox, or in an email, or even in my older version on MS Office 2003 Excel, Word, I'm running Windows XP3 and it works fine for me. Sounds like StockCharts is just telling you<br> the problem may be on your end with some setting on your machine or in your MS Office.<br><br><br><br>I don't know if Mac's have the restore option, like Windows has. If so you might want to try and restore your computer settings to a previous date, say 2-3 weeks ago and see if your capability returns. You can always change it back to current settings, but<br> if it works you'll know it is a setting on your end which you may be able to track down.<br><br><br>(Mar 13 at 09:48)Gord

Please notice that reinstalling was suggested AFTER using Disk Utility to verify the startup volume and repair permissions. Do the Disk Utility stuff first, restart your Mac, and then go to Excel's Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch the AutoUpdate utility.
