Missing Proofing Tools

Hi, I have installed Office 365 for over a year now, and I have had no problems with Word.  today, I got a message in Word that says:  "MISSING PROOFING TOOLS This document contains text in English (US) which isn't being proofed.  You may be able to get proofing tools for this language".  I clicked on the link to download, but I do not seem to have solved the problem.  I still get the message in Word, and it does not recognize misspelled words.

I have checked the online forum and tried the solutions offered but to no avail.

I'm confused as to what could have caused this since I am the only user of the laptop, and as recently as Friday I used Word.  Please help.

I have Office 365 and when I open word I get:

MISSING PROOFING TOOLS This document contains text in English (United Kingdom) which isn't being proofed. You may be able to get proofing tools for this language

    I click the Download link.

I can then download the one English proofing exe file - whose file name is proofingtools_en-us-x86.exe (it is English (US) not English (UK) ).  I then restart word and get the same error message - ARRGHH

Where can I download the English (UK) proofing tools from microsoft?

surely this can't be too hard

I should add that this is the download link I am directed to:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/language-packs/?LpArch=x86

note that it is en-gb - so it should know that I want English (UK) and not (US), but it still gives the (US) language pack.

I have had the same problem. I have only one version of Office on my laptop, Word 2013. I have used Word for over a year now with no problems but now have this message.

I am using English (United Kingdom).

    What should I try now?

    Thank you

    Hello Megan,

In order to help us resolve this issue, please let us know which language version of Microsoft Office (which includes Word) has been installed on the computer.

    1. Also, do check and let us know if there are multiple versions of Office installed on the computer. Navigate to Programs and Features from Control Panel to check the versions of Office installed on your computer.
    2. Do you get the error while proofing all Word documents on your computer or only with a few Documents?

Please check the above and let us know the result.

    Thank you.

No, but I'll move this to the word forum and see if someone there has more ideas.
