Missing Proofing Tools

Hi, I have installed Office 365 for over a year now, and I have had no problems with Word.  today, I got a message in Word that says:  "MISSING PROOFING TOOLS This document contains text in English (US) which isn't being proofed.  You may be able to get proofing tools for this language".  I clicked on the link to download, but I do not seem to have solved the problem.  I still get the message in Word, and it does not recognize misspelled words.

I have checked the online forum and tried the solutions offered but to no avail.

I'm confused as to what could have caused this since I am the only user of the laptop, and as recently as Friday I used Word.  Please help.

In Word 2013, you can tell if you have 32 or 64 bit by clicking File tab | Account | About Word.

Note that 64 bit Windows can run either 64 or 32 bit Office, while 32 bit Windows only can run 32 bit Office. Microsoft recommends 32 bit Office for most users; see https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Choose-the-32-bit-or-64-bit-version-of-Office-2dee7807-8f95-4d0c-b5fe-6c6f49b8d261?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US (Choose the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office).

Try going directly to the download page at

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/language-packs/?LpArch=x86

(assuming that you are running 32 bit Office 2013/Office 365).

I believe the download you have found includes all "flavors" of English, so this should be working. Did you make sure to restart all Office programs after the installation?

By the way, what was the language when you installed Office in the first place? If you installed a British version, there obviously should be English proofing tools available.

Also, what is the language version of Windows?

    Thanks for the reply.

I did restart Word (it was the only office program running)

The version installed was a British version.

From the Account->Product Information section there is an option to update office to version: 15.0.4631.1002 (currently on 15.0.4631.1000), but when I run the update - I get the following error message:

I have try repairing the installation, but I get the same thing.

I am running Windows 7 32-bit (upgraded from Vista)

I currently have no proofing tools enabled
