PowerPoint now supports selecting multiple object on a slide!
You have to press and hold an object with one finger and then tap other objects with another finger.
Problem solved!!!!

Selecting multiple objects is currently not supported in PowerPoint for iPad.
If a set of items is already grouped (using a different client like PowerPoint for Windows/Mac), you can move those objects as a group on the iPad.
Thanks for the feedback, and let us know if there is anything else you would like to see improved!
Just 3 messages above yours is a notice that it is now possible to select multiple objects in PowerPoint for iPad. As Luccino2007 posted on July 26, 2017, press and hold your finger on an object, then tap other objects to add them to the selection.
Initially I only saw the first question and answer so logged in to comment and missed that. After i posted i saw it and tried it out. Works great :-)
Adding support for multiple object selection on a slide was definitely an improvement.
But there is still no way to select multiple slides in a presentation. I want to be able to select a group of slides and them move them all. I have to move the slides one at a time, which is tedius.
This has been open for quite some time and shouldn’t be that difficult. Would be great to have both this and the slide sorter view.
