Highly disappointing that this problem remains an issue in Office Preview for Mac.
Unable to format negative values in excel using parentheses
I recently lost the ability to format negative values in excel using parentheses. (format setting: number, currency, etc)
After doing some research, it appeared that this might be due to the "region" settings of my computer, but I verified that it is set to US.
I recently upgraded to Yosemite and believe this is related to the issue.
anyone have any guidance to fix this issue?
thanks

Appears as though the Parenthesis is gone for good.

2015-09-22T18:20:27+00:00 This problem has not been addressed by Microsoft. The new Office 365, which includes Office 2016, is still unable to format a negative number by enclosing in parentheses (using Accounting number format). If you check the actual script in the number dialog box, you'll find "-" where there should be "(" and ")".
