Insert Current Date

Hello,

I recently acquired Office 2016 but im having a hard time with an old hotkey i used to have.

I cannot insert the current date ( 10/27/2015 ) into my cells . Every time i use control + shift + semicolon it only pastes the actual hour.  command + shift + semilcolon does the same thing.

Is this a general thing or just my macbook pro?

thank you

I've had this frustrating error as well, and today.. It's been bugging me since I upgraded to Office 2016, it did work in 2011.

After reinstalling Osx completely and also upgraded to El-Capitan - I still have this issue..

But I found the solution / Bug today..

It does not work unless you have a keyboard setup that doesn't need you to press shift to get a semicolon!!

I normally use swedish keyboard setup, there it does not work, but if I switch to US keyboard setup the semicolon is placed at the Ö-key.  Now it suddenly works!!

Found this out too, when switching from German to US-keyboard. However, this is no solution. Who wants to switch keyboards triggered by an Excel-shortcut?

    Greetings from Berlin,Germany.

May be a long shot, but check your OS X System Preferences to make sure you have the correct Region set in Language & Region as well as the appropriate Input Source specified in the Keyboard preferences

Also -- perhaps I missed it but I don't see where you've confirmed that your installation is updated to the 15.15.version of Office 2016.

    Hello Bob

I actually have the version 15.16. I changed between languages and the input stays the same.

Whenever i try Command + ; it inserts the time 21:29, whenever i try control + ; it inserts 21:29.

My OS X is fully updated. It worked perfectly on office 2011. It started giving trouble in the beta and now in the final version. I even uninstall 2011 according to the microsoft self help guide.

I really don't know what to do here, does microsoft has a direct support service? I paid around 250 USD for the original copy, it is a shame it's not working as intended

God this is so frustrating. Mine isnt working no matter what, it only posts the current hour. In fact control+shift+#. Does not work at all. I am working on 10.10.5 fully updated, disk permissions repaired.

I really don't know what is going on. It used to work perfectly on office 2011, started giving trouble when i got in the trial, and when i bought the original copy.
