Unable to delete Word file in an Android Device

I am trying to delete a file but Word (android GalaxyNote5) is saying I do not have permission to delete

    In spite of the incredibly frustrating responses from these techs -- who appear to not thoroughly look at the informative pleas for help by repeatedly asking questions already answered in the inquiry...

    I have found an amazingly Simple solution!!....

    Go to Settings > device maintenance > storage > documents > select (all pdf and others you don't want) > delete.

    That's it!! So simple!! Less than 2 minutes!  Done!!

    .... and I am a 55 yr old country bumpkin with absolutely NO computer or tech training!!!

    Your solution works for word documents created on the android device.  But it does not work for deleting word files that came as email attachments to the android device.

    Yes brilliant, worked and done in  minutes. Well done clever person  pretending to be country bumpkin. I too gave up with techies seemingly deliberately avoiding the straightforward  solutions .Set up a Countrybumpkin site and I' ll be one of the first followers. Geoff from Brighton
