I purchased Office 365 Home Subscription for Windows 10 on 03/17/17 and subsequently upgraded to the 2016 versions of Word, PowerPoint Excel, etc. I received an error message in these apps when trying to "INSERT >> ICONS" in PowerPoint. ICONS are a new
feature in the apps that allow one to use pre-drawn black and white symbols of everyday objects (e.g., dogs, headphones, forks, etc.) It's an .svg file extension and the library is stored online.
After 1 week of frustration and hours upon hours of speaking to Level 2 and then Level 3 Microsoft help desk personnel, here is the fix:
ERROR MESSAGE:
CANNOT FIND https://hubblecontent.osi.office.net/ContentSVC/Content/Download?provider=MicrosoftIcon&fileName=Document.svg
FIX:
Make Internet Explorer your default web browser. Microsoft products depend upon Internet Explorer to access the online library. It throws an error when Google Chrome is the default browser. I know... me too.
Microsoft uninstalled and reinstalled Office 365, tooled with Windows 10, uninstalled and reinstalled my Kaspersky software, etc. but nothing worked.
(NOTE: I never post on this boards and I don't plan on returning. I just wanted people to know the resolution that worked for me. The Microsoft techs were very kind and helpful.)
