I had some sort of an update this morning when I opened a workbook.  Ever since my cursor is huge - as a plus sign, arrow or four way arrow.  I can't change it to a normal size and it interferes with my work.  Can you help me change it back?

    I also had this issue and I was able to fix it on excel, it wasn't a mouse properties issue. At the bottom right corner, click where it says "display settings" and switch it to "optimize for compatibility". You will then have to close out of excel/word/all other office software, and re-open. This should fix your problem.

    Hi Marilyn,

    Given the situation, I would suggest you check if the cursor is in the default size via Control Panel >Mouse >Pointers >Scheme as shown in the figure below:

    If the issue remains after checking the settings, I would like to confirm the following information:

    1.Does the issue only occur in Excel? How about other Office applications?

    2.Does the issue occur in the certain workbook or all workbooks? If you create a new workbook, is the cursor size changed?

    3.Please share your current Excel version (Product name and Full version number) with for checking on our side.

    Regards,

    Eli

    Ugh i know, it's so annoying... What version of excel are you using? If you're using office 2018, then refer to the picture below;

    If you're using any other version, not quite sure where these settings would be.

    Thanks so much for trying to help.  Unfortunately, I have all of the other symbols (the increase/decrease screen bar, page break preview, page layout and normal), but I don't have the option to display settings.  I can't tell what version of Excel I'm on.  It came preloaded on a Dell laptop I bought last year and I've had a difficult time with differences between whatever version it is vs. the O365 I'm on with my work computer.  Thanks again for trying :-) -
