This problem does not appear to occur in all versions of Word. I just tested your example in Word release 1804 (part of Office Professional ProPlus) and it worked properly:
Check Document doesn't check grammar
With the new update, when I "Check Document" in word, it only checks spelling and not grammar. It will not check grammar unless you have "check grammar as you type as an option". I don't want to check grammar as I type, I just want to check it when I'm done. I assumed - shame on me I guess - that "Check Document" would check both spelling and grammar. How do I get it to check grammar without having the "check grammar as you type option on?" Thanks

2018-05-30T15:43:26+00:00 Is there any update on this issue. This is a pretty big issue that Grammar checker is not working.
Is there a way to revert to a prior version that doesn't use this new Editor.
I type "these is absoluteness crazies." and it comes up with zero grammar errors and YES I have "Mark Grammar as you type".
Please advise on when this will be fixed. Thank you
