    OS is Mojave 10.14.1

The problem does not happen with all local files. What I said is that the files with the problem are local.

The files in question have no external links.

I sent you a link to a sample file on OneDrive.

I am not going to spend time messing with Safe Mode.

    Hi Danssmith,

Thanks for your link in Private Message.

When I try to access the link in browser, I get the following error message.

It seems that there are some connections in the workbook, please click data tab then connections to see if there are some.

In addition, please check the Private Message again and I have replied in it.

    Best Regards,

    Gloria

    Here are the connections:

I will try again to send you a OneDrive link, but OneDrive is not very reliable.

    Hi Danssmith,

Thanks for your reply in Private Message.

According to my test, when I copy the pivot table to another workbook, it will also copy the connection to the new one.

You can paste as no format to avoid the connection if you don't need it.

For this issue doesn't happen in previous version, we would like to suggest you leave a comment to Excel for Mac UserVoice to let the product team know your requirement.

You can also click the smile face in the Excel client to provide a feedback, it will also be sent to the product team.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Gloria
