Hi, I've a problem with the cursor identifying the wrong cell in Excel. Happens regularly and to resolve it I either have to close/reopen Excel or increase/decrease the zoom. Running Mac10.15.2 [Catalina] and Excel 16.16.17. Have seen this issue flagged before: but I seem to be using the latest iteration of both OS and Excel so updating has not helped. Grateful for any advice which stops this very frustrating issue. Thanks, Rory

    Hi Meng,

I just replied to your previous email. Sent a s/sheet with fewer data than some of the others.

Many thanks for your continued support in resolving this issue. If it proves all too difficult, then I can continue to work in normal view and revert to page view to print copies.

Hopefully the next MS update will resolve the issue.

    Best wishes, Rory

    Hi Rory,

Thank you very much for your updating and I have received your message and the problematic table.

I have tested at my end and tried to reproduce your issue in Page Layout View but all things work fine. As we have full understanding of your situation, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue. While working in normal view as a workaround, the most efficient way to solve this issue is seeding your concern back to our development team. Your feedback will help us better understand your issue and fix it as soon as possible in a later release.

Thank you again for your understanding

    Best Regards,

    Higgins

    thanks Higgins,

pity - we never got to the bottom of it.

hopefully your backroom boffins can resolve it in the next release.

have to state that a return towards the more intuitive 'mac' environment of the previous version would be a great 1st step!

    regards, Rory

    Hi Rory,

I think the Microsoft AI bot RoryScott is a bit off. It's difficult for me to wade through the nonsense posted by the Microsoft bots and keep up with what's going on with this.

You mentioned earlier in the thread you have version 16.16.17, which is Office 2016. Yet, you posted to the Office 365 forum, which suggests you have an Office 365 subscription. If you have a subscription and Mac OS 10.13 or higher, I recommend updating to Office 2019. Hopefully, I'm not repeating myself.

You mentioned that you copied and pasted into a new, empty workbook and that provided relief for a brief period. Did you change the fonts? The misalignment issue has been associated with certain fonts.

Try using different fonts and see if the problem goes away.
