Do not select multiple or all age cells.
Instead, right-click a single age cell and select Group... from the context menu.
You should then see a dialog to specify the start and end values and the group size.

Goad day,
I am trying to group age data, but when I group it, It doesn't give me the option to choose grouping intervals, etc. it only adds a line and says Group 1, but doesn't group the data.

Are you sure that the values in the source range are 'real' numbers, and not text values that look like numbers?
Hans,
I've checked it and it was 'genera'l, which would not be a problem, but for good measure I changed it 'numbers' and made no difference...
I sent the spreadsheet to the end-user and when she sent it back for additional pivotCharts I saw the grouping is not working.
I have updated my original Spreadsheet with the additional pivotcharts and it is working like a Swiss clock. So, I decided to write it off as an unexplained anomaly and move on...
Thanks for your effort, it is greatly appreciated!!

Tjaart
Hi Tjaart,
Thank you for sharing your experience here.
According to your description, it seems that you cannot use Group Selection in Pivot table. And you encountered an error message. And it seems that you have changed the format of those numbers to Number format. However, the same problem still persists.
If you sent the sheet to the others, then the others sent it back to you, the Group is not working. And you have updated your original spreadsheet, you found the additional pivot chart work fine.
If so, it seems that this problem didn’t occur for now. I am writing to confirm if you need any help. Let us know when you have time.
Best Regards,
Sukie
