The syntax of the name isn't correct when naming an excel named range in name manager

I was trying to create a named range with the name that includes '&' character in it , excel doesn't allow me to create one and pops up a waring box indicating the syntax isn't correct along with 3 rules to verify the name specifying not to include spaces or characters that isn't allowed . I could not find any page by microsoft that specifies that characters that are not allowed while naming a named manager . I kindly request the microsoft community to specify the rules for naming the named ranges in excel.

Thankyou.

Use characters A to Z and _ in names and your are on the safe side.

You can use numbers 0 to 9 also, but you can not define a name that is equal to a cell reference in absolute and R1C1 reference style.

Thankyou , this official page specified is helpful in understanding the rules , but this page is not specific to named ranges in names manager . This would have been more convenient for the users if it specified as rules for name manager . As a suggestion it would be great if these rules are specified in the warning box that pops up if the syntax in naming isn't correct in excel.
