Problem with images and text in presentation mode.

I have recently changed laptops. I often used Powerpoint via Office 365 on my old laptop but I am having trouble on my new laptop. Both laptops are MacBook Airs. Now my slides open and appear normal in edit mode but in presentation mode only the outline of the images show up and the text similarly only appears as outlined text. Each letter is just an faint outline filled with the slide background colour. How does one fix this? Thank you.

    Hello Derek B,

Thank you for posting your question in our community, kindly use the steps below to update Office on your mac:

Open Powerpoint, go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch the AutoUpdate app. Let AutoUpdate install updates and then restart your Mac.

Let us know if the issue persists after that.

    Best Regards, Asher

Thank you for your reply Asher. I downloaded the file to my desktop and the problem does not exist when working from there. The problem seems to only exist when working online. But I will be working from the online files for the most part so I'd like to solve that problem. When I clicked on "Help" I did not get an option to "Check for updates". What should I try next ? Much appreciated.

    Hi,

Many thanks for your question. My name is Tim and I’ll try my best to resolve your issue.

I’m just wondering what fonts you are using? Are they standard Microsoft ones or different?

There is a link below which is similar circumstances to you where it was recommended to do the following:-

Can you try embedding the fonts into the file when saved as detailed below:-

1)Choose File>Save As>Browse. 2)In the Save dialog, click on Tools>Save Options and check the Embed fonts in the file. 3)Choose the Embed all characters option, then click on the OK button.

Thanks Tim but that does not solve my problem.

The same problem exists for all fonts, standard and non-standard.

    Again just to be clear:

I am working in powerpoint online and when in presentation view in the online version the text shows up as seen below.

There are 2 images. Please ook carefully at the 2nd image. There is faded text there.

    Any ideas anyone ?

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Just one last question, have you tried this on a different computer to narrow down if it’s a problem specifically on your computer or if it’s a problem with the online version?

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Many thanks

    Tim
