Cannot add picture to Excel Header

I'm trying to add a picture (letterhead logo) into an Excel header - something I used to be able to do without problem.

Now, it does not enable me to browse to the folder. None of the options on the below screen are selectable. They are all just dead buttons - not even an error message/sound.

    Hi Jon,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

According to your description, I have tested it on my side, and I can reproduce a similar situation. When I clicked the Browse button, there was no response, but I found a workaround to successfully insert the picture into the header. Please check if the following steps help or not.

    1. Please make sure the picture is a local file.
    2. Click Picture under the Header & Footer tab. The Insert Pictures window will appear.
    3. Type any word in Bing Image Search, and press enter. The window will display !!ERROR!! as shown in the below screenshot.
    4. Please click "Work offline", then File Explorer should pop on, and you should be able to insert the picture. After that, you can select one cell, and the picture will appear in the header.

    Hi Jon,

    Thanks for your feedback.

I just notice that many users also report a similar situation in our community, when you have time, I would like to suggest you contact your admin or IT department to raise a support ticket via Microsoft 365 Admin Center> Support> New service request. That support team there will have the correct channel to help you investigate more and find what exactly the reason has caused this situation.

    Appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi George,

It worked. I also raise a support ticket via the M365 admin center.

    Hi George,

I can attest to two instances of Excel being affected by the most recent updates. I can say that I use headers with our logo frequently enough that this coincided with the updates that I received earlier in the week, or late last week. I hope that helps to define when it broke and what loader propagated it.
