Gap between columns in a Table

There is a template in Microsoft Word called "tactical business marketing plan". On the last page of the template, there is a table. I would appreciate it if anyone can please explain how the gap is created between the columns. Thanks!

    Thank you for the additional information and screenshot. It appears that the gap between the columns in the table is achieved by using vertical borders with white shading.

    You can create a vertical border with white shading to simulate a gap between columns.

    One way would be to apply indentation to the paragraph with a top border. That would "indent" the border as well.

    It appears text boxes were used

    But that does not deal with the 'gap'

    Although the standard cell margins would provide a sufficient indent.
