I create new book in excel (no protected or locked cells). And select columns or rows. Then the selection do not highlight in grey (only outline line):

Throw, if I select cells - selection highlights:

I tried:

  1. Restore excel defaults, by deleting from regedit and restarting.
  2. Deleted files from roaming (C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel)
  3. Checked Add-ins.
  4. Repaired Microsoft Office.
  5. Uninstalled Office 365, restarted and installed again.
  6. Created new user and installed office 365.
  7. ?what else?

Nothing helps to change this option... Windows 10 Pro

Please, help...

That is due to dis improvement by Microsoft as what I've read. Kindly try to check other Office app if it has Disable hardware acceleration in options, it affects all Office apps.

Checked in word, access - no "Disable hardware acceleration" . Found in Power point: "Disable SlideShow hardware graphics acceleration". Marked, restarted. No affects.

Tried to disable threw windows Graphics settings (disabled display adapters) - no effects...

May be the reason is not hardware acceleration...

I remember, when I first installed office 365 on this computer - selection worked normal. Then after some key combination (or something else...) it changed. And no ideas how to restore... :(

I'm afraid to say I don't have any further ideas to offer.  There are many knowledgeable users active on the forum and I hope that someone else can offer further insight on your issue.

I'm noticing the same issues. Just started happening very recently.

I really hope this is just a bug and not some new "feature" some clueless developer added.
