This version solved the problem.
Excel: selected columns or rows do not highlights. Throw selected cells highlights. How to change?
I create new book in excel (no protected or locked cells). And select columns or rows. Then the selection do not highlight in grey (only outline line):

I tried:
- Restore excel defaults, by deleting from regedit and restarting.
- Deleted files from roaming (C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel)
- Checked Add-ins.
- Repaired Microsoft Office.
- Uninstalled Office 365, restarted and installed again.
- Created new user and installed office 365.
- ?what else?
Nothing helps to change this option... Windows 10 Pro

2023-04-11T05:44:30+00:00 Wow!! Nice find! Very true. Anything that's greater than 88% zoom will have this problem. Anything less than equal to 88% zoom and its fine for highlighting rows! For highlighting columns the problem remained all they way down to 50%, which is not useable.

2023-04-25T06:18:05+00:00 HI everyone, we have the same problem. When we launch the fisrt time Excel, there is no problem. But when we accept or not the new UI interface, we relaunch Excel and The problem appears.
Reduce the zoom to 30% works for us.
We are in VDI environnement (Citrix ,Windows 10, VMware)
