After creating the pivot table from the data set, I am having trouble changing the report layout to tabular. I have searched for the "design" tab in order to do this, but I cannot find it.

THere is no design tab in excel online. Select the PivotTable tab, then click the Settings button, and there is a Layout section in the task pane.

Which version of Excel are you using and is the active cell somewhere within the pivot table? (if not, the tab will not be visible.)

    Dear A Fraz,

    Good day!!

As per the description shared, I understand the concern at your end i.e., you are not able to change the Report Layout of the Pivot Table as you can’t see the Design tab.

If my understanding is correct, I have tested the behaviour in the Excel app by inserting the Pivot Table, and noticed the Design tab appears when you click on the cell in the Pivot Table:

Moreover, when you click outside the cell in the Pivot Table, the Design tab disappears:

So, I would like to know whether you have clicked in the Pivot Table to get the Design tab. If yes and still doesn’t appear, I think you are opening the workbook in the Excel for the web:
If yes, please open the Excel workbook in the Excel desktop app to see the outcome.

Thanks for your co-operation and patience.

    Best Regards,

And have you selected a cell somewhere in the pivot table?
