"windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mircosoft Office\root\Office16\WINWORD.EXE'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. " I have seen threads with this as a problem, but NO SOLUTION. I have rebooted, repaired (both options), reinstalled, updated, rebooted each time after. STILL nothing has allowed the app to open. Other EXE files open, but NOTHING from OFFICE.
The chains usually have some admin bemoning that the question was answered when the person gets back stating IT WAS not answered then it is locked. So Please re-read the question and rething what other options there are. It does not appear to be a EXE is associated or disassociated to its function, as other EXE files open.

I repeat… Purchased from Microsoft directly…
Rather flippant answer without thinking what happened.
The reciept and purchase was from A CH Robbinson employee purchasing directly from Microsoft.
I am troubleshooting a similar issue.
Done the Repair, both online/quick.
Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Rebooted, reinstalled, ran repair again, rebooted again..... Even windows update and repeated all the above again. The 'winword.exe' file will not open. Not having any issues with any other executable file, other then ANY of the office apps...
