Problem with Insert Object in Word

When I try to insert an object in Word 365 I click on Object and a dialog box opens for me to choose the file. I have a spinning icon and cannot select anything.

    If you are running 32 bit Office, switching to 64 bit has reported to solve issues with OLE in the past.

    It is a bit of a long shot, because 64 bit installations are becoming more common now, when it is the default. The exception is if you installed your current version of Office on top of an older 32 bit version, in which case the "bit-ness" will remain at 32 bit with the new version.
