Thanks, this is a store bought product, Office 365 Family. So the product has been purchased.
I have been able to do so in the past five years I have been using it. So it has changed?

Hi Russ, this what comes of posting on another person thread. It gets complicated when there are different problems.
Re: "I too am having trouble activating a Office 365 renewal without agreeing to "Recurring Billing"
You state". I am assuming that your subscription has not run out? Therefore, you must have recurring billing turned on to continue your subscription after it runs out. You can then turn of recurring billing before the expiry of your subscription. Do it well in advance of the expiry date.
So , I have tried this and in the end it just forces you to put a payment method, otherwise you have to talk to Microsoft office support, and to be honest, its faster to crack another version of microsoft office than waiting to hear from microsoft support. This is just a way to drain money out of peoples accounts by forcing them to put a payment method when most of us clearly will forget about it and end up been charged. I am disgusted with this kind of actions, if you actually want to pay for the office suscription and do things right, they just come up with this and make it harder. Anyway, already payed for my 15 month suscription and I hope that I wont forget to cancel the "recurrent payment". If there is a way to do this sooner please instruct me.
With the help of this link you can turn off the auto renew to not get charged.
