I have an excel file, with a lot of sharepoint link. I have inserted this spreadsheet in the SharePoint classic page using Excel Web Access Webpart. As per the users, before, the link is opening when the users click on the URLs. Now, users need to right click then choose to open link. Is there any possibility that we can change this behaviour?

    Dear Koteswara Varma,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

From your description It seems Not able click on the links directly on Excel Web Access Web Part in SharePoint Online behavior from your side.

Apologized situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

I read your query carefully and I do multiple tests on our end, it still allows us direct clicking it to open the file. So, we believe it is not related to backend changing. For further trouble shooting, we suggest you with below actions.

1, remove the webpart first then re-add the webpart and choose the same file to see if it works.

2, open the file via Excel for the web from its original location, click the links inside and check if it redirects directly.

3, test with creating a new Excel file, inserting a new link and add it to the webpart to see how it works. Image

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to correct me.

    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Sophia

I believe this is a new issue, I am now having the same problem in Excel documents that work locally but do not work within Office365/One drive or whatever.

These documents I have been generating for 2 years, and all of a sudden some cells cannot be clicked on. What is weird is some cells show the hand and some do not. But this is a very new behavior, within the last few weeks. I have checked older Excel files that did not have this problem, and now Excel links are not clickable within those Excel workbook within Chrome and Office365. These links are all internal links to other worksheets in my use case. Same behavior I can right click on link and click open, but clicking on cell does nothing.

I'm also having this problem. Microsoft disabled a simple point-and-click. Now must right-click and choose Open Link for links to external SharePoint files AND internal links to other tabs within the workbook.

While I have the same issue, I noticed that links to Youtube work fine in the document that we have. This is very peculiar.
