Sync error

On the app I have a banner up the top that says 'Sync Error We're having trouble syncing. Click "sign in again" to fix this issue.' However, no matter how many times I sign in this doesn't go away. I have tried restarting the app and updating it but nothing seems to work.

    Hello,

I just tried this and it says 'Saved offline (sign in required)'. I did manage to find an error code if that helps? When i clicked on view sync errors it came up with:

We're having trouble syncing. Click "Sign in again" to fix this issue. (Error code: 0xE0000024 bdf5h)

    Thanks for your help,

    Mollie

Hi! Mollie1566,  A OneNote product manager said that they have fixed this issue and that the issue will be resolved on September 3rd. Currently, the OneNote product manager recommends that you resynchronize your notebook using the following steps: right-click your notebook in the desktop app and select "Sync This Notebook Now".

Additionally, you can also try clicking File > click Info > click View Status in the top left corner of OneNote and then manually click Sync All.

You can click on the link to get more updates on this issue: OneNote desktop app cannot sync with OneDrive - Microsoft Community(English Thread)  Thank you for your understanding and patience.Best RegardsEddy | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply. To answer your questions:

    1. I have not had any login issues with any other application
    2. There was no error code

As seen in the post above there was no error code or other options just the option to sign in again.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks,

    Mollie

    Hi! Mollie156,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

I realize that you've encountered a problem with OneNote has a sync error and is having login issues and I understand how you feel.

OneNote sync errors have become a hot issue for us recently as we have received feedback from some users about sync issues with OneNote.

However, I noticed that your issue also contains an error of not being able to log in. To further understand if your issue is the same as our recent hot issues, I sincerely invite you to share the following information with me:

    1. May I ask if your other Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) are also experiencing account login issues?
    2. May I ask if your current account error problem shows error code: 29? (This is a hot issue that has come up before in the community forums, and I'd like to check with you to see if your problem is related to this)Thank you for your understanding and patience and I look forward to hearing from you. Best Regards Eddy | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
