Dear avery88_206,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. I hope you're having a great day.
According to your concerns, to help narrow down the cause of the Excel for web error you're seeing, I’d like to ask a few quick questions:
- Does this happen with all Excel files or just one specific file?
- Are you using any browser extensions, especially clipboard managers, privacy tools, or ad blockers?
These can sometimes interfere with web-based Office apps. - Is your Microsoft 365 account managed by your organization?
If so, there may be admin-level policies or service issues affecting your experience. - Have you tried using Excel for the web in a private/incognito browser window?
This can help rule out cached sessions or extension conflicts.
In the meantime, kindly check my recommended ways to try solving the issue:
Use Excel Desktop App
- If available, open the same file in the desktop version of Excel to complete your task without interruption.
Use Incognito/Private Mode
- Open Excel for the web in a private/incognito browser window. This helps rule out issues caused by cached sessions or browser extensions.
Once we have this information, I’ll be able to guide you through the appropriate steps to resolve the issue.
Best Regards,
Ian-Ng - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.
