    Dear Chandra Shekar N,

Thank you for reaching out regarding managing Copilot access for your users. I understand you want to ensure that users with Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses only have access to Copilot for work (Microsoft 365 data) and not Copilot for the web (Bing-powered responses). Below are the steps and guidance to achieve this.

How to Disable Web Copilot for M365 Licensed Users

Currently, Microsoft does not provide a direct toggle in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to disable Copilot for the web exclusively while keeping Copilot for work enabled. However, you can control this access via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) policies or Bing search settings

Option 1: Restrict Web Copilot via Microsoft Entra ID (Recommended)

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
    2. Navigate to ID Protection -> Risk-based Conditional Access -> Policies.

    1. Create a new Conditional Access policy:
    • Name: Block Copilot for Web
    • Users: Select the group/users with M365 Copilot licenses.
    • Cloud Apps: Select Microsoft Copilot.
    • Conditions: Set as needed (e.g., exclude trusted locations if required).
    • Access Controls: Block access.

    1. Enable the policy and save.

This ensures users can only access Copilot for Microsoft 365 (work data) and not the web-enhanced version.

Option 2: Disable Web Search in Copilot (If Available in Tenant)

Some tenants may have a Bing integration toggle under:

    1. Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Settings > Org Settings > Copilot (Preview).
    2. Look for an option like "Allow web context" or "Bing search integration" and disable it.

Note: This setting may not be available for all tenants yet, as Microsoft is gradually rolling out admin controls.

I truly hope you understand that the initial steps I suggested may not have completely resolved the issue, as there might still be underlying causes, we haven't uncovered yet. Please know that I’m here with you every step of the way, ready to work together and do everything I can to help troubleshoot and find the best solution.

I hope this clarifies your options. Please feel free to reach out if you would like assistance implementing the macro solution or if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much for your quick response. We have tried the 1st option, but we don't get - Cloud Apps: to Select - Microsoft Copilot 365. We see only copilot studio apps.

Any idea how to get the target sources to fetch Copilot for M365.

    Thanks,

    Chandra
