Jeremy,
This interminable wait has gone beyond frustrating. It’s been a month since this fiasco began, and Microsoft has yet to provide a timeline, a workaround, or even basic transparency. For a company of this scale and reputation, this is embarrassing.
I was flabbergasted that such an obvious, disastrous flaw ever passed QA. We’ve submitted Feedback Hub reports, waited patiently, and yet the lack of transparency and respect shown to customers is downright insulting.
Let’s be honest: Microsoft clearly doesn’t care. The issue affects only a small niche of advanced users who manually altered the battery limit settings in the UEFI, and that’s why it’s being deprioritised or possibly ignored. Since this toggle was used by so few users, it's apparently not worth their attention, and I am beginning to fear it may never be fixed at all.
If we don’t see a patch by next week’s Patch Tuesday, I will return my device under the manufacturer’s warranty. I encourage all other affected users to do the same until Microsoft shows it takes this seriously.
I urge Microsoft to act before more goodwill is lost. A new update is essential to restoring any semblance of confidence or accountability, and proving that users aren’t being ignored.
