Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hi @Pedro Lopes,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you for reaching out to us and explaining your situation. I understand that you can't access your Outlook account and that your account is now locked.
To help you better, could you clarify the following?
- Are you signing in as a user or as a global admin for your Microsoft 365 tenant?
- If you're an administrator, are there any other administrators in your organization who still have access to your account?
Since you haven't specified the type of account, I may not be able to give you an exact solution. However, assuming you use a work account, consider the following steps:
Option 1: Please contact your IT administrator to unblock the account via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- Navigate to Users > Active Users.
- Select the affected account, then choose Unblock sign-in.
Option 2: Contact Microsoft Data Protection Support by Phone (Primary Method)
To regain access to your administrator account, as you can't access the Admin Portal, try contacting Microsoft Global Customer Service to request a reset of your authentication method here: Customer Support Phone Numbers - Microsoft Support.
During the call, ask to speak to an agent and share all the details related to your issue. Mention that you are the only admin who lost access to their account. This should allow you to contact the right team to resolve the incident as soon as possible.
Here are some tips and an example for navigating the IVR system:
In some countries, the conversation is automated, for example:
IVR: What kind of problem are you worried about? You: Authenticator.
IVR: What kind of product do you use? You: Office 365 for business.
IVR: Education or Business Account? You: For companies.
IVR: Are you an administrator? You: Yes.
IVR: Do you have another administrator in your organization? You: No.
IVR: Do you need a... service request? You: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me directly to the Data Protection team.
Option 3: Create a Temporary Account (Test Tenant) to Submit a Support Ticket (Alternative Method)
If you can't get in touch with a live agent, there's a workaround: Sign up for a new tenant by creating a trial subscription at this link: Microsoft 365 for business plans and pricing | Microsoft 365
This will allow you to create a new tenant following the prompts. Once set up, you'll be able to access the new tenant's admin console and submit a support ticket requesting to speak to the Data Protection team on behalf of your previous tenant.
