    Hi @Rowland Aaron

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the details you shared, I understand you received an update over the weekend and would like to revert from New Outlook to Classic Outlook. I truly appreciate you taking the time to reach out and clearly describe what changed, so we can support you more effectively.

This change can occur because updates are delivered automatically, and New Outlook may be enabled after an update or when the New Outlook option is turned on. In addition, New Outlook and Classic Outlook are separate experiences, so returning to Classic Outlook may require turning off the New Outlook setting and ensuring the Classic Outlook desktop app is available on your device.

1/ Switch back to Classic Outlook from within New Outlook

    • Open New Outlook on your computer.
    • In the upper right corner, locate the New Outlook toggle (it may appear as Try the new Outlook).
    • Turn the toggle Off, then confirm the prompt to switch back.
    • Wait for Outlook to close and reopen, as it should launch into Classic Outlook automatically.
    • If Classic Outlook does not open after this, please proceed to Solution 2.  User's image

2/ Launch or restore Classic Outlook on your device

    • Close Outlook completely to ensure the app restarts cleanly.
    • Select Start, then type Outlook in the search bar.
    • Choose Outlook (Classic) or Microsoft Outlook from the results, if it appears.
    • If you do not see a Classic option, you can repair Microsoft 365/Office to restore it. Open Control Panel, go to Programs and Features, select Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office, then choose Change and run Quick Repair.
    • After the repair completes, restart your computer and open Outlook again from the Start menu.  User's image

    3/ Contact IT administrator:

Since your account is managed by your organization, please contact your IT administrator to review your permissions and policies. If the issue persists after these checks, ask your IT administrator to submit a support request directly to Microsoft Support team.

They can raise a support ticket by visiting: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

To revert back to classic Outlook after receiving updates, you can use the toggle feature. If you have the toggle available, simply select the Try the new Outlook toggle in the top right corner of the classic Outlook interface to switch back. If the toggle is not responding or visible, it may be due to installation issues or unsupported settings. In such cases, you might need to check your Outlook installation and settings.

If you need to switch back immediately, you can also close Outlook for Windows, and it should open classic Outlook the next time you launch it. Remember that both versions can run side-by-side, allowing you to switch back and forth as needed.

For further assistance, you might want to check your organization's policies or reach out to Microsoft Support if you encounter any issues with the toggle or switching back.
