Hello

I am contacting you in behalf of Microsoft account**[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]**@gmail.com which was compromised and has no access in their account because someone got in and changed e-mail and PW. This happened at 28 Feb 2026.

i have submitted an account recovery request, filled all fields with all requested details (card numbers, Xbox device ID etc.) at 01 Mar 2026. Can you please give me an update?

fyi the current account ([Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@gmail.com) is the correspondence account i declared in the recovery request

Please take into consideration that whoever gained access to the account now owns all the XBox games i have paid. They cannot possibly have all the details I have like the XBox ID and card details. Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Regards,

[Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@gmail.com

When your user account is hacked, the #1 thing that you must do before anything else is to protect your identity.

On the internet, no one can distinguish between you and your attacker, and there is nothing that Microsoft or anyone else can do about it.

Think of all the information that may be stored in your stolen account ... email addresses, payment information, details about your life ... your attacker copied all that in an instant and is able to (mis)use it right now.

While you are submitting account recovery forms and dealing with AI bots and waiting for callbacks, your attacker could be sending millions of pieces of spam in your name, threatening your contacts, making purchases with your payment information, obtaining credit in your name, and otherwise impersonating you on the internet. Even if you were to somehow recover your account, which is not likely, it could be filled with malware.

You must disassociate yourself from that account as much as possible. Abandon it and warn everyone you know. Start over with a new account. Always protect your identity.

User accounts get hacked every day. The people who do these things are professionals and they are backed up by an industry of professionals. There is also an industry of professionals (including Microsoft) who are working hard to thwart the attackers. It's a never-ending battle. All of us need to be proactive about our security and privacy on the internet. Protect your identity first.

Microsoft Support and community forums cannot view or update individual account recovery requests, unblock accounts, or transfer ownership of Xbox purchases. Only the automated Microsoft account recovery and hacked‑account processes can restore access.

To move forward, the affected account owner needs to:

    1. Use the hacked/compromised account flow
    2. Rely on the Microsoft account recovery form
      • If sign‑in is not possible because the email and password were changed, the only supported path is the Microsoft account recovery form (ACSR).
      • Guidance for completing it thoroughly is here: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form.
      • Ensure the form is submitted from a familiar device and location, and include as much detail as possible (Xbox console hardware ID, old passwords, billing details, contacts, etc.).
      • A result is normally sent to the working contact email within 24 hours. If recovery is denied, the form can be retried (up to two times per day) after reviewing the guidance to improve the answers.
    3. If recovery is unsuccessful
      • If the form reports that the account does not exist or repeatedly fails, and security info has been replaced by the attacker, there is no alternative manual override for consumer Microsoft accounts. Support agents are not allowed to reset passwords or change account details outside the automated process.
      • For Xbox/Minecraft or other game entitlements tied to that Microsoft account, contact the relevant game support (for example, Minecraft Support for Minecraft entitlements) to ask if they can offer any alternative options, but recovery of the Microsoft account itself still depends on the standard process.
    4. Protect other accounts and devices
      • Follow the hacked‑account article to scan all devices for malware, change passwords on other services that used the same or similar password, and warn contacts that the account was compromised.

No one outside the official automated systems can provide a status update or accelerate the review of a specific recovery submission. If no email has been received after 24 hours, submit the recovery form again with any additional details that can strengthen proof of ownership.
