UPI and NetBanking are only supported in India for one-time payments on Microsoft Online Subscription Program (MOSP) Azure accounts, not as recurring payment methods for consumer subscriptions like PC Game Pass. UPI cannot be set as the recurring payment method for a Game Pass subscription.
For Microsoft subscriptions with recurring billing, the subscription price and plan are tied to the active subscription. Once a subscription is canceled, the previous pricing and terms normally cannot be restored through self-service; resubscribing uses the current price. The documented options are:
- Manage or change payment method (for supported methods)
- Go to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the account used for Game Pass.
- Find the subscription (if still present) and select Manage > Change how you pay.
- If recurring billing is on and the subscription is active, a different supported payment method (such as another card or PayPal, where available) can be added via Add a new way to pay and then selected.
- If Change how you pay is not visible, recurring billing is off or the subscription has already ended, and the subscription will have to be repurchased at the current price.
- If there is any past-due balance
- On the same Services & subscriptions page, if the subscription shows as past due, select Pay now and update or add a valid payment method to clear the balance. See Pay for a past-due Microsoft subscription.
- When a subscription has already been canceled
- If the subscription was canceled and has fully ended, self-service options only allow purchasing again at the current price. The previous “loyalty” or legacy price is not restorable via the documented subscription-management steps.
Because restoring legacy pricing or making exceptions is not available through the standard billing pages, this scenario requires direct support assistance. Use the official support/contact paths so an agent can review the account and advise whether any adjustment or exception is possible for the specific Game Pass subscription and region.
