Apparently the AI bot can't read the error report... Assuming you're using a currently supported edition of macOS [Sonoma, Sequoia or Tahoe] your Office software is seriously in need of being updated. The report indicates v16.101.1 but v16.107 is the current release..Use Help> Check for Updates in order to bring Office to that level. Also, make sure your installation of macOS is fully updated. Updating may not be the cure but it's pointless to chase symptoms if the system isn't up-to-date.

If using an older edition of macOS please indicate the specific Version Number of that edition.

The crash log alone does not identify a specific known Word for Mac defect in the provided context. However, the context shows that add-ins and damaged Office components are common causes of repeated Word crashes on Mac and Windows. Use the following steps, in order:

    1. Disable or remove add-ins
      • If any third‑party add-ins are installed (for example, WordRake or PDF/Adobe add-ins), disable or remove them and test again.
      • For WordRake specifically, there is a known crash issue on macOS Catalina that is fixed by updating or removing the add‑in. Update WordRake using the vendor’s installer or remove the add‑in entirely, then restart Word and test.
    2. Repair or reinstall Office
      • Exit all Office apps.
      • Run an Office repair (on Windows this is done via Installed Apps → Office → Online Repair; on Mac the equivalent is to fully reinstall Office if components are corrupted).
      • After repair/reinstall, start Word again and check whether the crash persists.
    3. If Word still will not open
      • The context indicates that in some cases registry or configuration corruption required extended support intervention to resolve.
      • If add-ins and repair/reinstall do not resolve the crash, contact Microsoft Support with the crash log and environment details for deeper investigation.

If any Adobe- or other vendor‑supplied Office integration is involved (for example, SaveAsAdobePDF.xlam or similar), contact that vendor’s support as well, as their components can prevent Office apps from running correctly.
