Hello, I was charged today for my Microsoft 365 Personal subscription. I did not intend to renew it, and I would like to request an immediate cancellation and full refund. Please assist me. Thank you.

As you have an existing subscription, you will need to cancel it first and then you can go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365/billing and try it from there or try to turn off the recurring billing at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2277073 and you can also follow the guided steps indicated from the link below and this also includes refund eligibility.

To request cancellation and check eligibility for a refund of a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription that renewed today, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft Services page for Microsoft 365 subscriptions: https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was charged.
2. Locate the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription and select Manage.
   • If instead of Manage the page shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire on the date shown and will not be charged again; in that case, no further action is needed for cancellation.
3. On the Manage page, select Cancel (it may appear as Upgrade or Cancel).
4. Scroll through and follow the on-screen instructions to complete cancellation.

Refund notes and options:

• Refund eligibility is determined after cancellation; not all cancellations result in a refund.
• If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store, contact their support directly for cancellation or refund instead:
  • Google Play: see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
  • Apple App Store: request a refund from Apple support.
• In certain countries (including Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Turkey), cancelling may entitle to a prorated refund depending on subscription length and local rules. See Countries with prorated refunds for Microsoft subscriptions for details.

If additional help is needed (for example, if the charge is not visible under the signed-in account or the refund option does not appear), contact Microsoft Support via Contact Microsoft Support, choose the Microsoft 365/Office product, and select a billing/subscription category to reach a support agent.

Be aware that cancelling Microsoft 365 Personal will revert cloud storage to the free allowance (5 GB OneDrive + 15 GB Outlook.com). If storage in use exceeds the free quota, uploading/syncing new OneDrive files and sending/receiving Outlook.com email may be blocked, and after 12 months OneDrive content may be deleted.
