    Hi there,

Microsoft claims it was fixed yesterday, but it surely has not been.

Some suggestions here, although I think it is Microsoft's fault, which they can only fix.

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Wishing you good luck!

Follow these steps in order, using a browser on the iPhone (Safari or another browser):

    1. Check if the Microsoft account is locked
      • Go to https://account.microsoft.com and try to sign in with the email and password used on the iPhone.
      • If a message appears that the account is locked, follow the unlock flow:
        • Request a security code to a phone number that can receive SMS. It does not have to be the number already on the account; any SMS-capable phone can be used.
        • Enter the code and complete any prompts to unlock the account and, if required, set a new password.
    2. If the sign-in page shows no Next button
      • This indicates the account is locked for suspicious activity or Terms of Use issues.
      • Use the aka.ms/ link shown in that window and follow the instructions to submit the reinstatement form.
      • After submitting, wait for the email from Microsoft Online Safety support; do not submit multiple forms, as that slows the process.
    3. If SMS codes are not working
      • Try a different phone number that can receive text messages (friend, family, or work phone). The number is not stored or reused and the code expires after 10 minutes.
      • If you see “usage limit exceeded,” wait before trying again, as the number may have been used too many times or flagged as suspicious.
    4. If the Outlook.com mailbox is blocked
    5. After the account is unlocked and password confirmed
      • On the iPhone, open Outlook for iOS or the iOS Mail app.
      • Add the account again using the updated password:
        • In Outlook for iOS: go to SettingsAccountsAdd Account, choose Outlook.com/Microsoft account, and sign in.
        • If using Apple Mail with Outlook.com, ensure the account is added as Outlook.com so it uses modern authentication.
    6. If still unable to sign in on the iPhone but can sign in on another device
      • Confirm that sign-in works at https://account.microsoft.com or Outlook.com on another device.
      • On the iPhone, clear any saved sign-in sessions by removing the account from the app again, then retry sign-in with the confirmed working password.

If all online unlock and recovery options fail or the form cannot be submitted, wait for the lockout period (typically about 24 hours) to expire before trying again, and avoid repeated attempts during that time to prevent resetting the cooldown.
