    Good day @Dilan Wickramasinghe

With OneDrive for Business Plan 2, the maximum storage supported for a single user is 25 TB. You don’t need to purchase any additional storage to reach this limit. In most cases, Microsoft needs to first enable the higher threshold for your tenant, and only after that can an admin manually increase the OneDrive quota up to 25 TB.

To move from your current storage up to 25 TB, your Microsoft 365 Global Admin will need to open a Microsoft support request and ask Microsoft to increase the OneDrive quota limit. This request can be submitted by following the guidance in: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Note: If you’re an end user and don’t have admin permissions yourself, the best next step would be to contact your internal IT or Microsoft 365 admin and ask them to open this support ticket on your behalf, as only admins can work directly with Microsoft on this type of request.

Once Microsoft processes the request and confirms that the higher limit is enabled, the admin can then update the user’s OneDrive storage again as needed. Microsoft provides clear instructions for both increasing a specific user’s quota and adjusting the default OneDrive storage for users, which you can find in:

Because this is a user to user support forum, I don’t have access to your tenant or the tools needed to make changes directly in your environment. Those actions can only be performed by your organization’s admins and Microsoft support. My role here is to help clarify how the process works and share the right documentation so you know exactly what the next steps should be.

I hope this clears things up and helps you move forward smoothly. If you have any further questions, please leave a comment under this post. This is the best way for me to receive notifications and follow up with you promptly.

Looking forward to your response, and I’m happy to assist further.

Thanks you again for reaching out.

For OneDrive for Business Plan 2, the per‑user maximum is 25 TB, but increasing beyond 5 TB must be requested and processed by a Microsoft 365 admin using the official diagnostic.

Steps for the Microsoft 365 admin:

    1. Confirm eligibility
      • The user’s OneDrive must already be at least 90% full of the current 5 TB allocation before Microsoft will approve an increase beyond 5 TB.
    2. Run the OneDrive storage increase diagnostic
      • In the Microsoft 365 admin center, use the dedicated diagnostic to check the user’s eligibility and request the increase beyond 5 TB.
      • In the Run diagnostics section, enter the user’s UPN (User Principal Name) whose OneDrive needs more storage, then select Run Tests.
      • If the diagnostic confirms the site can exceed 5 TB, select Update Settings to process the increase (up to 25 TB per user for eligible plans, including Plan 2).
    3. Adjust the user’s quota after the increase
      • Once Microsoft has increased the tenant’s default limit for that user, adjust the specific user’s OneDrive quota (up to 25 TB) from:
        • Microsoft 365 admin center, or
        • SharePoint Online Management Shell.

    Important notes for Plan 2:

    • OneDrive for Business Plan 2 supports up to 25 TB per user; admins can request Microsoft to increase from the default up to this maximum.
    • After a user reaches at least 90% of 25 TB, additional storage is provided as a 25 TB SharePoint team site (per user) via Microsoft Support.
    • The diagnostic for increasing beyond 5 TB is not available for GCC High, DoD, Microsoft 365 operated by 21Vianet, or Microsoft Education customers.

If the diagnostic is not available in the tenant or the request fails, the admin must contact Microsoft Support for assistance with additional storage requirements.
