My subscription has been terminated, but I paid in January 2026 for a year if you check my account. Please re-establish my subscription.

    1

    Open Word.

At the top right of Word, log out of Office.

Restart (not shut down) your PC, then log back into Office, is your subscription then recognised correctly.

    2

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, check the expiry date listed on your subscription, is that listed correctly.

    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

If not, go to the Payments and Billing section, is it indicated your payment has been processed correctly.

    3

If it is indicated your payment was processed correctly, and also that your subscription has already expired, many people reported this problem in April, it seems to be a server side error, this forum is just a user to user forum, no-one here has any account access, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly, try using this method to contact their support.

    Go to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    Select Microsoft 365

    Click 'Get Home Support'.

In the box provided, type billing.

Press Enter, then on the next page, scroll down and click 'Sign in to Contact Support'.

Navigate to Microsoft 365 and Office - Manage my Subscription.

Select the 'Chat with support agent in web browser' option

Subscription status and billing details cannot be viewed or changed here. To verify the payment from January 2026 and re-establish access, follow these steps:

    1. Confirm that the Microsoft 365 subscription is active
      1. Close all Office apps on iOS and any other devices.
      2. Go to the Subscriptions page.
      3. Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase Microsoft 365 in January 2026.
      4. Under the Microsoft 365 heading, check the status:
        • If it shows Has recurring billing, the subscription should still be active until the listed date.
        • If it shows Expires on [date] in the past or Canceled, the subscription has ended and must be renewed.
    2. If the subscription shows as expired or canceled
      1. Renew the subscription by following the steps in Renew Microsoft 365 Family from the Subscriptions page.
      2. After renewing, restart Word on iOS and sign in with the same Microsoft account.
    3. If the subscription shows as active but apps say it is terminated or canceled
      1. In Word on iOS, open the app menu, go to the account/profile area, and make sure the signed-in account matches the one that shows the active subscription on the Subscriptions page.
      2. Sign out of all accounts in Word, then sign back in with the correct Microsoft account.
      3. If the issue persists, follow the guidance for subscription errors:
        • Close all Office apps.
        • Confirm again on the Subscriptions page that the subscription is active.
        • Ensure payment information is valid on the Payment options page and that no payment errors are shown.
    4. If payment looks correct but access is still blocked
      • Use the support options described in the articles below (for example, contact support for Microsoft 365 Family or Personal) so an agent can review the billing on the account and correct the subscription status.
