My Teams status is showing as 'available, out of office', which is wrong

I'm not out of office and don't have OOO switched on anywhere in Microsoft - it's not in Outlook or any of the other apps, nor on my work cell. I can't seem to get rid of this and just want it to show 'available'.

    @Jess-Q

    Have similar issue.

Tried all the options you mentioned but non worked out. Also tried accessing Teams on the web to reset the status but it doesn't change.

The status shows OOO only on Teams, not Outlook.

    It is a Business account

When i change on Outlook, it doesn't change anything on Teams. And the same, if i go ahead schedule OOO from Teams, it doesn't put OOO on Outlook. Looks like the sync is disconnected between Outlook and Teams.

It happens both on Teams on the web and Teams on Desktop.

I tried sighing out/in from the app and Web. I tried siging in on the Edge and also i tried resetting Teams Cache from %userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

    Hi @Sophy Geering

Regarding your issue, may I kindly ask a few questions to help understand it better.

    • I saw that you posted your question under the Business category so to better support you, would you mind letting me know is this account a personal Microsoft account (e.g., account.microsoft.com) or a work/school account (e.g., myaccount.microsoft.com) provided by an organization?
    • Where exactly are you seeing the "Out of Office" status? Is it in Teams, Outlook, or both?
    • Does this issue occur when using Teams on the web, or is it only happening on the Teams desktop app or both?
    • Are other users in your organization experiencing the same behavior or does this seem to affect only your account?
    • Were you able to manually set your Teams status to "Available" by clicking your Profile picture > Available? If so, does it stay or revert back to "Out of Office"?
    • User's image
    • Did you also try resetting your status by clicking Reset status and clearing any custom status message?
    • Could you try signing out of Teams (and Outlook if needed) on all your devices, then signing back in? This can force a status sync refresh after doing so, does the status go back to "Available" or does it still show "Out of Office"?
    • Have you tried clearing your Teams cache? You can do this by closing Teams completely, then following the steps here: Clear the Teams client cache

Hope to hear back from you soon.

The initial response may not fully address your needs, but it will help me better understand your situation. Once I get the information, I will try my best to find the next steps.
