I have an existing subscription but would like to add additional computer to family

Hello,

You don't have to add devices/computers specifically.

You invite the user you want to share with. You can use the instruction here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/share-your-microsoft-365-family-or-premium-subscription-b389b9ce-3ae3-4a82-9017-39d79972fcba

Once the sharing part is done, the user accept it and then install it directly.

Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into their Microsoft account. Click on Apps on the left.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps.

To add another computer under an existing Microsoft 365 Family subscription:

1. On the new computer, go to https://www.office.com.
2. Select Sign in and use the Microsoft account that owns the Microsoft 365 Family subscription, or
   • If the subscription is shared with a family member, sign in with that family member’s Microsoft account after they’ve accepted the sharing invitation.
3. After signing in, select Apps (or the install option) and choose Install apps to download the Office installer.
4. Run the downloaded installer and complete setup.

With Microsoft 365 Family:

• The subscription holder and each person it is shared with can install Microsoft 365 desktop apps on all their devices.
• Each person can be signed in to Microsoft 365 on up to five devices at the same time. If a sixth device is signed in, one of the earlier devices will be signed out automatically. To use Microsoft 365 again on that device, just sign back in.

If the subscription is currently Microsoft 365 Personal and needs to be shared with family members, it must be switched to Microsoft 365 Family first. Microsoft 365 Family can then be shared with up to five additional people, each getting their own apps and 1 TB of OneDrive storage.
