    Hi fpefpe,

Thank you for the detailed information.

In addition to the above suggested steps by the AI Answer, I recommend these additional checks to help isolate the issue:

    1. Perform a clean boot to rule out background conflicts
A third‑party service or startup program may be preventing Copilot from launching.

    • Press Windows + R, type msconfig and press Enter
    • Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all
    • Switch to the Startup tab and open Task Manager, then disable all startup items
    • Restart your PC and try launching Copilot

*Disclaimer: A "clean boot" starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get back on track.

If Copilot works in this state, it indicates that a background application or service is causing the issue.

    2. Test with a new user profile
This helps determine whether the issue is related to your current user profile.

    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users
    • Under Add other user, select Add account
    • Enter the account details:
      • Use an existing Microsoft account, or
      • Select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information to create a new account
      • For a local account, choose Add a user without a Microsoft account
    • Follow the on-screen steps to complete setup

After creating the new account, sign in and check whether Copilot launches normally.

Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps or if you notice any specific behavior when launching the app, I’ll be happy to continue assisting you further.

Try these steps in order on Windows 10:

    1. Check that Copilot is properly installed
      • Go to Settings > Apps.
      • Search for Copilot in the list.
      • If it appears, select it and choose Uninstall.
    2. Reinstall Copilot from Microsoft Store
      • Open Microsoft Store.
      • Search for Microsoft Copilot and install it again.
      • After installation, try launching Copilot from Start > All apps > Copilot.
    3. If Copilot still will not start, repair Microsoft Store services
Problems with Microsoft Store services can prevent Store apps (including Copilot) from starting correctly. Follow these checks:
      • Press Windows key + S, type services.msc, and press Enter.
      • Find Microsoft Store Install Service.
      • Double‑click it and check:
        • If Startup type is Disabled, change it to Automatic.
        • If Service status is Stopped, click Start.
        • If it is Running, right‑click it and select Restart.
      • Click OK, then try starting Copilot again.
    4. Run Windows Store app repair (optional next step)
If Copilot and other Store apps still misbehave, run the built‑in Store repair/reset from Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Store > Advanced options, then Repair (and if needed, Reset), then reinstall Copilot again from the Store.
    5. If the app previously worked and suddenly stopped after an update
      • Fully uninstall Copilot as in step 1.
      • Reboot the PC.
      • Reinstall Copilot from the Microsoft Store.
      • If it still does not start, there may be a deeper Windows image or profile issue; in similar cases, reinstalling or repairing Windows has resolved stubborn Copilot/Office issues.
