Automatic renewal Microsoft

Question

I’ve been charged for the monthly renewal of Microsoft but it was a mistake cause I forgot to cancel my subscription. I don’t need . I would like the refund since I will not use the service this month

As you have an existing subscription, you will need to cancel it first and then you can go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365/billing and try it from there or try to turn off the recurring billing at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2277073 and you can also follow the guided steps indicated from the link below which also includes refund eligibility check.

To request a refund for an automatic Microsoft 365 renewal, cancel the subscription first and then check eligibility for a refund.

1. Go to the Subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account that was charged.
2. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription that just renewed and select Manage.
   • If you only see Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to expire and won’t be charged again; in that case, a new renewal charge should not occur.
3. On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what is shown).
4. Follow the on-screen steps to complete cancellation.
5. After cancellation, refund eligibility depends on region and subscription type:
   • For consumer subscriptions (Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, Premium), a refund may be issued when cancelled within the allowed window after renewal. Some countries (for example Canada, Israel, Korea, Turkey, and certain longer-term subscriptions in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal) support prorated refunds. 6. If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or Apple’s App Store, the refund must be requested from them directly:
   • Google Play: follow the steps under Learn about Google Play refund policies.
   • Apple App Store: request a refund via Apple support.
