I want to speak with a live person about you taking 21.98 instead of 1:99 out of my account. I want a refund. I did not auth. I only auth you to take out 1.99 a month. Gail Clyburn

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Since this issue involves a payment and a possible duplicate charge, it will need to be handled directly by Microsoft Billing Support, as only they can access billing records and process refunds:

    • Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
    • Type this keyword and press Enter: Contact Support.
    • At the bottom, click "Sign in to contact support" and sign in with your Personal Microsoft account (Not work or school account), or click "Contact Support" if you're already signed in.
    • In Product and services, select "Microsoft 365 and Office".
    • In Category, select "Manage my subscription".
    • Click "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

If you ever find yourself stuck in a loop, please use the keywords "Contact Support" or "Live Chat" (without the quotes) and click "Contact Support" at the bottom.

If all is resolved, feel free to mark the answer for this thread. Otherwise, please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

For an incorrect or unauthorized Microsoft 365/Office subscription charge, the billing team must review the account and process any refund; community forums cannot access accounts or issue refunds.

Use these steps to reach Microsoft Support for billing and refund help:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Support contact page: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that is being charged.
    3. Select the relevant product (for example, Microsoft 365 or Microsoft account/Subscriptions).
    4. Choose a billing-related category such as “Billing and Payment updates” or “Manage my subscription.”
    5. Select the option to Chat with a support agent or Call me back to speak with a live person.
    6. Provide details of the charge (amount 21.98, date, and that only 1.99/month was authorized) and request a refund review.

If the subscription was purchased through a third-party retailer (for example, Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or another store), contact that retailer directly for cancellation and refund, because Microsoft cannot cancel or refund subscriptions purchased and billed by third parties.

If the charge is truly unauthorized, also contact the bank or card issuer to report the transaction and ask about a chargeback or card replacement to prevent future unauthorized charges.
