Networked printer not working again

Already had this problem with KB5005565 and uninstalled that update on the host printer and networked laptop. That worked for a short time. Now apparently another Win 10 update occurred with the same problem. I have Win 10 on all machines. The host is sharing a Brother HL 2040 with USB connection. It continues to print from the host but is unable to print as a shared network printer - error is "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance? This operation is not supported. "
I checked that KB5005565 is not installed - at least it is not listed as a possibility to uninstall now.
The update history shows:

KB5006670 10/15/21 - after this problem started

KB4023057 10/8/2021 - Likely suspect

KB5005565 9/18/2021 - and removed already.

I am uncomfortable repeatedly removing security updates.

I am having a similar issue. It was printing fine until Windows rolled out the KB5005565 update in September. The printer sharing was working again after uninstalling the KB5005565 on the host computer. However, printer sharing stopped working again on 18 Oct 2021. Neither the KB5005565 nor KB5006670 is showing as installed update on the host computer; hence, unable to uninstall those updates as a fix to the problem like before. What could potentially be the problem and what's the fix?

Please update what the current status from Microsoft is for this - October 30, 2021.

Do I need to re-install KB5005565 - If so how do I do this after it has been removed? Removing it no longer helps so I might as well get the security fixes, right?

Is there a fix in a current cummulative update - if so it is NOT YET Working. Will it be in the upcoming November patch?

Was there a patch for this already - perhaps optional? If so how do I get it?

I've had success with giving the printer a static IP and putting it on a switch, thus bypassing the windows updates and sharing from a network pc.

Having the same issue and its the second month in a row an update has broken shared printer functionality. To make matters worse I tried to rollback using a system restore point to date prior to the most recent update and laptop hung on restore and blew up the OS partition. I then tried to recover but Dell laptop was encrypted with BitLocker. Notes said my BitLocker ID was stored on my MS account but I got a url not found for that info. I was able to rebuild OS partition fresh but its a long process and still cannot print. Microsoft needs to get their act together and stop breaking Shared printer function.

Update!!! 09.11.2021

Since i got requested too many times on my gmail about the guide and everything i managed to share it with more than 100 people and they got fixed their USB Shared Printers.
So today to celebrate 1 week since i found the long term solution i updated the guide and made things easier.
What's new:

regedit files are now available to install with 2 clicks without needing to navigate through regedit and create the registries

easier to understand guide (had to remove some things that weren't that good and people couldn't follow up)

Need to remove latest update from windows update. After removing the update printer will work as before over the network.
