    Hi Peter Huegle,

I understand how frustrating it can be to get stuck in a sign-in loop, especially when the error message does not clearly identify where the problem is coming from.

Could you confirm whether this happens while signing in directly on the Community Associations Institute website or while adding the email account to Classic Outlook? If the error appears only on the forum website, the issue may be related to how that site connects to or verifies your email account rather than Outlook itself.

At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.

As a quick check, try signing in to the email account through the provider’s webmail page. If that works normally, I’d suggest clearing the browser’s cookies and cache for the forum website, trying an InPrivate window and temporarily disabling any browser extensions that might interfere with the sign-in process.

If the loop continues only on the Community Associations Institute website, please contact the forum administrator or its technical support team and provide the Session ID and timestamp shown in the error. They should be able to check the failed authentication attempt on their side. Thank you so much for your understanding.

INVALIDCREDENTIALS TEMPORARILYUNAVAILABLE indicates Outlook could not authenticate to the IMAP service, and the provider may also be temporarily unavailable.

    Try this in order:

    1. Sign in to the email account in the provider’s webmail first.
If webmail sign-in fails, the issue is with the account or provider, not Outlook.
    2. Verify the username and password.
Some providers require the full email address, while others may require a different sign-in name such as a UPN.
    3. If the provider uses app passwords, create a new app password in the provider’s security settings and use that in Outlook instead of the normal password.
    4. In Classic Outlook, update the password for the IMAP account:
File > Account Settings > Server Settings > replace the password > Next > Done.
    5. If the account still loops on “Waiting for Your Email Provider,” contact the email provider or forum administrator to confirm:
      • IMAP access is enabled
      • the account credentials are correct
      • the provider is not having a temporary service issue
      • any required app-password or authentication policy is configured
    6. If the mailbox works only in Outlook Classic but calendar or other non-mail data does not sync, that is expected with IMAP because IMAP supports email only.

If webmail works but Outlook continues to fail, the most likely causes in the available guidance are an incorrect sign-in format, a bad password, or a provider-side temporary issue.
