Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Michael Golub,
I understand that the Spectrum account was added to Classic Outlook, but outgoing messages cannot be sent.
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access the account or the configuration completed by the technician.
The Q&A Assist answer provides appropriate initial checks. Have you had a chance to try those steps, and did Outlook display any specific message when sending?
I would also like to add two checks without repeating the earlier guidance:
- Sign in to Spectrum Webmail and send a test message. If sending also does not work there, the issue needs to be checked by Spectrum.
- In the Outlook account settings, confirm that the outgoing server requires authentication and uses the full Spectrum email address and mailbox password. Spectrum lists outgoing port 587, SSL enabled, and authentication required, while the server's name depends on the domain after the “@” symbol. See Spectrum Email Server Settings. Please share the exact message Outlook displays when sending, with any personal information removed, so the next step can be narrowed down.
