Organizing sections, permissions, and content within the Class Notebook
Hi Mary,Thank you for reaching out.
The “Something went wrong” message is a general SharePoint error indicating that the access request could not be completed, but it does not identify the exact cause.
To resolve the issue, please follow these steps (The following guidance is for Windows devices. If you are using a different device, please let me know):
- Open a private browser window
Open a private or InPrivate browser window, access the class notebook, and sign in with your school account. This helps rule out stored browser data or an existing sign in session.
- Copy content directly in OneNote
- As a workaround, please open the old and new Class Notebooks in the OneNote desktop app and copy the required sections or pages directly from the previous notebook into the new one.
After copying, please wait for both notebooks to finish syncing, then check the new Class Notebook in Teams.
- Contact your IT administrator
- If the error continues, contact your organization’s IT administrator and provide the correlation ID and timestamp from the original error message.
- Ask your organization's IT administrator to open the Microsoft Entra admin center and select Entra ID > Monitoring & health > Sign in logs. They can filter by your account, the relevant date and time, and Failure, then open the failed attempt to review the failure reason and additional details.
- Contact Microsoft Support
If your IT admin needs a deeper investigation, the best next step would be to open a support ticket with Microsoft via the admin center. A technical support engineer can then initiate a remote session, review backend settings, and run diagnostics. If needed, they can escalate the case to specialized engineering teams who are well-equipped to perform advanced troubleshooting and provide targeted solutions.
For guidance on how to request support in the admin center, please refer to: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin.
In case you do not know who is your IT admin, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
I look forward to continuing the conversation.
