Hello

I have to create a slide for the classes and I have a problem.

For example, I change the rotation of an entry, I save, I close the document, I open it again and I see that my rotation has not been saved.

What for?

I've already tried everything so I'm asking for your help.

Thank you very much

    Dear @Wells Oakley,

For better understanding, could you please provide some more information as:

What version PowerPoint are you using (desktop app or web version)?

    • Does the issue occur with all presentations or only one specific file?
    • Are you saving the file locally, on a network share, or in OneDrive/SharePoint?
    • Are there any error messages when saving or reopening the presentation?

In the meantime, here are some suggestions you can try:

1/Save in the native file format

    • If you are using Microsoft PowerPoint, save the file as .pptx.
    • Compatibility formats or files created by third-party applications may not preserve all formatting settings.

    2/Check the object type

    • If the item is part of a grouped object, SmartArt, or an imported graphic, ungroup it (if possible), apply the rotation again, and save the presentation.

    3/Test in a new presentation

    • Create a new blank presentation.
    • Insert a simple shape, rotate it, save the file, close it, and reopen it.
    • If the rotation is saved in the new file, the original presentation may be corrupted.

4/Repair Office (if you are using desktop app)

    • If the issue persists with all presentations, try running an Office Repair from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
    • Choose PowerPoint app > right click > Change then choose repair

If you have tried all the methods above but cannot resolve the issue, please update more information as my previous questions so I can support you more effectively.

    Looking forward to your update.

This behavior usually points to a save or file corruption problem rather than the rotation setting itself.

    Try this sequence:

    1. Save the presentation locally first
      • In PowerPoint, go to File > Save As.
      • Choose This PC or OneDrive.
      • Select Browse, choose a folder, name the file, and select Save.
      • This confirms the file is being saved properly.
    2. If using PowerPoint for the web, check where it is opened
      • PowerPoint for the web saves automatically whenever a change is made.
      • If the file is opened in the browser, there is no Save command.
      • If the presentation has protection such as password, digital signature, or IRM, it must be opened in the desktop app.
    3. Create a new presentation and reuse the slides
      • If changes like rotation are not retained after reopening, the file may be corrupted.
      • Create a new blank presentation.
      • Import the slides into the new file by using Home > New Slide > Reuse Slides.
      • Then save the new presentation and test whether the rotation persists after closing and reopening.
    4. If saving to OneDrive, verify sync is working
      • Make sure OneDrive is signed in and working correctly.
      • If save problems continue, save to a simple local folder first to test whether the issue is related to cloud sync.

If the problem happens only in one presentation, corruption is the most likely cause. If it happens in every presentation, the save location or app environment is more likely involved.
