A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
avutil-60.dll under the OneDrive folder with error status 0xc0e90002 typically indicates the local OneDrive program files are corrupted or incompatible. The supported fix is to remove the broken OneDrive app installation and install the latest OneDrive sync app again.
- Open Start and type apps:onedrive.
- Select Uninstall and complete the prompts.
- This removes the OneDrive application, not the files stored in the OneDrive folder or in the cloud.
- Download and install the latest OneDrive sync app.
- Sign in again and allow OneDrive to rescan and resume syncing.
If Windows reports that a newer version is already installed, uninstalling first is required before reinstalling.
If the issue started alongside OneDrive sync errors involving invalid reparse points, run a disk check. Note: chkdsk /R /F can take several hours and may require a restart.
- Select Start, type cmd.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
chkdsk <volume> /R /F - Replace
<volume>with the drive letter where OneDrive is located, such asC:. - If prompted to schedule the check at restart, enter Y and restart the PC.
General DLL load failures can also happen when the DLL is missing, corrupted, not on the expected path, or when there is not enough memory available.
