I have a HP Pavilion 15-bc014nl, with a Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60 Ghz Processor, and I can't believe that Windows 11 doesn't support it. I'm very disappointed.

So far those with unsupported installations:

    1) clean installs of Windows 11

    2) upgrades after modifying files or registry

    have been able to perform:

    a) Windows updates

    b) Microsoft Defender updates

    c) In place upgrade repairs

One other consideration about current hardware, operating system issues is if and when there will be Windows 12 minimum requirements.

Performance, Reliability, and Security are moving targets.

Windows 11 requires officially Intel 8th generation CPU or later. First letter of four numbers in CPU model tells you the generation, like i7-6700 is 6th gen.

Unofficially, this limitation can be easily overridden but then not supported.

I have this experience, that if you do a clean install from Windows 11 OFFICIAL media (not cracked with system requirements), it will not require anymore TPM 2.0 nor 8th gen cpu. It only will require TPM but it can be 1.2. But upgrade still have heavier requirements.
