OUTLOOK 365 on MAC REPEATEDLY ASKING FOR EMAIL PASSWORD

How do I fix OUTLOOK 365 from asking me repeatedly to enter my email password again and again. The OUTLOOK is version 16.61. I enter the password and OUTLOOK performs the proper download/sync from my email provider (Earthlink). But, it will ask again the next time I go to my email, even 10 minutes later.

Search for "adal" as well, you should have a couple of entries:

    • com.microsoft.adalcache
    • Microsoft Office Credentials

In my case, deleting the 2 entries above, deleting the account from Outlook, then restarting Mac OS and re-entering the account from scratch on Outlook solved the issue.

    OK, this finally worked.

Previously, I was unable to delete the entry:

    • com.microsoft.adalcache

When I searched for a solution, someone suggested selecting EDIT from the main menu, then selecting DELETE instead of pressing the delete key, or right clicking and selecting delete. THANKS! @mr

Both my husband and I are having this problem constantly - up to 10 times per day. We are both running Outlook 16.67 on a Mac running Monterey 12.6. I have an M1 and his is an older Mac. When I search I do not see any of the options above. Searching for "adal" comes up nil as does com.microsoft.adalcache. How do I stop this annoying problem? There has to be a way. Here is a screen shot when I search for com.microsoft.adalcache

SO, after I posted that my issue was solved, the issue started all over again. Once again I am being asked, multiple times through out the day, for my password. So annoying! One of the primary reasons for dumping the Microsoft machines back in 2013 was to get away from crappy programming only to find that I still needed the "Office" Suite.

I feel your pain. I truly do not understand why this is so hard to fix. Does it have something to do with the Exchange account or lack thereof?
